Short Holiday Poems

The shepherds went their hasty way,
And found the lowly stable-shed
Where the Virgin-Mother lay:
And now they checked their eager tread,
For to the Babe, that at her bosom clung,
A Mother's song the Virgin-Mother sung.

The first soft snowfall
Fluffy white flakes drift slowly
Across the gray sky
Sitting by the fire
Listen to the crackling wood
Watch the red flames dance

It's the end of the year, and we're thinking of you;
We're searching for words, for the perfect phrase,

To let you know that you're special to us,
And to wish you and yours Happy Holidays!

The boys sit down in the park beneath the tree,
Praying that their parents could look down and see.

The beautiful angel on top with the pretty gold bow,
And all of the presents that lay wrapped below.

Christmas at their house had been full of smiles,
Now a smile can't be seen for miles.

When their dad went away everything went wrong,
It's been a few months but it has seemed so long.

Now Mom and Dad are whispering;
They imagine I don't hear.

I'm really all excited;
It's a happy time of year.

I've made my holiday gift list;
Whatever I get, I'll be glad

To be a part of my family,
And the best holiday I've had!

Toward the end of the year
as the holidays approach,
anticipation builds,
happiness increases,
our joy quotient goes way up,
smiles and laughter abound.
Part of that happiness and joy
is thinking of you during the holidays,
thankful to know you.

And a meeting house full of toys,

Then I'd go out in a happy hunt
For the poor little girls and boys;
