The wreath is on the door
And the snow is on the tree
God has laid His holy hands
On all that we can see.
Be quick to raise your voice
And praise what He has brought.
Keep now His love in every choice
And Christmas in every thought.

Of gifts of love and peace and cheer
And a happy, prosperous New Year.
This time of year the children's glee
At sitting there on Santa's knee
And telling him, when they believe
What he should bring on Christmas Eve

I-n Christmas there is work and there is pleasure,
S-o interfused one cannot separate.
T-he labor from the loving, common treasure.
M-ade from giving, much beloved weight,
A- burden and a blessing both, that one.
S-hould relish till the precious day is done.

R-acing madly mall-to-mall, we climb.
I-nto fields of sunlit harmony.
S-hopping, cooking, clearing walks and yards,
T-rimming house and tree while working, too;
M-aking phone calls, wrapping, writing cards,
A-s all worn out we do what we must do.
S-o that this day of joy might joy renew.

Or arms to carry him towards love and fun,

Or friends to care what happens on the run.
To adult life, where joy or sadness lies.
It's time to give your heart to everyone,

For God loves all, and turns His back on none,
Good or twisted, ignorant or wise.
Christmas is a time for love and fun,

And a great big pack.
Down through the chimney.
Pretty nimbly.
Somebody comes on Christmas eve !

If we are real nice.
And as still as mice.
If we never peep.
And are sound asleep.
He will fill our stocking, I do believe !

Will grow big to see .
How perfectly.
He knew what we all.
Wished to receive !.

Stars and wise men will travel to prevent.
The effect of Herod's jealous general doom.

Seest thou, my soul, with thy faith's eyes, how He.
Which fills all place, yet none holds Him, doth lie?.

Was not His pity towards thee wondrous high.
That would have need to be pitied by thee?.

Kiss Him, and with Him into Egypt go.
With His kind mother, who partakes thy woe.

I have a list of folks I know, all written in a book.
And every year when Christmas comes, I go and take a look.
And that is when I realize that these names are a part.
Not of the book they are written in, but really of my heart.

For each name stands for someone who has crossed my path sometime.
And in the meeting they've become the rhythm in each rhyme.
And while it sounds fantastic for me to make this claim.
I really feel that I'm composed of each remembered name.

And while you may not be aware of any special link.
Just meeting you has changed my life a lot more than you think.
For once I've met somebody, the years cannot erase.
The memory of a pleasant word or of a friendly face.

In some ways you have a part in shaping things I do.

And every year when Christmas comes, I realize anew.
The best gifts life can offer is meeting folks like you.
And may the spirit of Christmas that forever endures.
