Christmas Tree Poems

Excitement and joy are filling the air;
The lights add special decor.
We're shopping for Christmas gifts everywhere,
But are gifts what Christmas is for?
The wreaths and the trees and the parties
Aren't what we need to convey;
It's the birth of our Savior, Jesus,
The real reason for this holiday.

***************

Five little candles twinkling on the tree.
The first one said, "What do you see?"
The second one said, "I see Santa big and jolly."
The third one said, "I see Christmas wreathes or holly."
The fourth one said, "What do you hear?" The fifth one said, "Children singing loud and clear,"
A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."

We each have a space that we must fill.
With love, and lessons and good will.

Let's keep our tree ablaze with light.
With testimonies burning bright.

For our Gospel is a living tree.
That lights the way to eternity.

*****************

There once was a shining Christmas tree.
Standing out where all could see.

Its brilliance captured very eye.
And seemed to cheer each passer-by.

"The lights are so bright", they would say.
And hesitate to walk away.

The tree stood proud ablaze with light.
For every light was burning bright.

Now listen to your Christmas tree: I'm wise.
In all the ways of faith that you must know.

I'm here because of what I symbolize:
Green through ice and snow.

There is a world beyond what we can see.
Where, by grace of God, we can receive.

God's greatest gift: to live eternally,
If only we believe.

*****************

I'm your Christmas tree, all brightly lit,
Hung with angels, colored balls, and elves.

Underneath my boughs your presents sit,
If you've behaved yourselves.

Why must we wait till early Christmas morn.
To open up our brand-new games and toys?

Why gifts for us the day that Christ was born.
If we're good girls and boys?

*****************

All the carols are sung.
And the Christmas lights glow.
For one simple reason.
That mankind shall Know.

That God loves each one of us.
And He wants everyone.
To know of the story.
Of Jesus, His son.

For life everlasting.
For you and for me.
Remember the Christ child.
As you gaze at this tree.

This section is a Christmas tree.
Loaded with pretty toys for you.
Behold the blocks, the Noah's arks.
The popguns painted red and blue.
No solemn pine-cone forest-fruit.
But silver horns and candy sacks.
And many little tinsel hearts.
And cherubs pink, and jumping-jacks.
For every child a gift, I hope.
The doll upon the topmost bough.
Is mine. But all the rest are yours.
And I will light the candles now.

*****************

Within thy walls may peace abide.
The peace for which the Savior died.

Though humble be the rafters here.
Above them may the stars shine clear.

And in this home thou lovest well.
May excellence of spirit dwell.

God bless you all this Christmas Day.
May Bethlehem's star still light thy way.

And guide thee to the perfect peace.
When every fear and doubt shall cease.

And may thy home such glory know.
As did the stable long ago.

Man is ever in a struggle and he's oft misunderstood.
There are days the worst that's in him is the master of the good.

But at Christmas kindness rules him and he puts himself aside.
And his petty hates are vanquished and his heart is opened wide..

Oh, I don't know how to say it, but somehow it seems to me.
That at Christmas man is almost what God sent him here to be.
