Christmas Religious Poems

The Christ-child stood at Mary's knee,
His hair was like a crown.
And all the flowers looked up at Him,
And all the stars looked down.

***************

The star in the sky is shinning so bright,
It gives the shepherds a sign & the Kings light.
Joseph can't take his eyes of the little baby,
Neither can those who have come to meet this miracle born from Virgin Mary.
Mamma Mary smiles down at her sweet little child,
His lips too stretch into a smile on his face so mild.
Merry Christmas to you dear!

***************

Brightest and best of the Sons of the morning!
Dawn on our darkness and lend us thine aid!

Star of the East, the horizon adorning,
Guide where our Infant Redeemer is laid!

Cold on His cradle the dewdrops are shining,
Low lies His head with the beasts of the stall;

Angels adore Him in slumber reclining,
Maker and Monarch and Saviour of all!

*****************

It was a silent night in Bethlehem,
When Christ our King was born,

While shepherds watched their sheep,
On that very early morn.

A brilliant star was shining,
Upon that sacred shrine,

Of the Holy Family kneeling,
Beside the manger of God Divine.

The shepherds followed this radiant star,
Of royal beauty bright,

*****************

A little child,
A shining star.
A stable rude,
The door ajar.

Yet in that place,
So crude, folorn,
The Hope of all.
The world was born.

Jesus Christ was born this day.
So many years before.
He came a servant to the lost.
Though he was Lord of Lords.

We celebrate this joyous time.
Reflecting on His birth.
Not born in a mansion, but a stable.
As if He had no worth.

He came so He could identify.
With the human heart of man.
And gave His life as a sacrifice.
Offering a better plan.

*****************

Lord I love you.
Lord of all.
I love the way you follow fall.
With winter and with Christmas time.
And inspire men like me to rhyme.

Lord I love you.
Lord of Earth.
I love the day of your son's birth.
And will forever cherish Yuletide.
Until I am an angle a-bowing at your side.

*****************

Holy, Holy Spirit, I have quenched your flame.
I received you, but I grieved you.
when conviction came.

Holy, Holy Spirit, whom I have despised.
Jesus sent you and He meant you.
when He prophesied.

Holy, Holy Spirit, present in my heart.
I repent of grieving your love.
Please do not depart.

Holy, Holy Spirit, when I hear your voice.
Confirmation of salvation.
Makes my heart rejoice!.

*****************

Come, Holy Spirit, come in power.
You wish us all to bloom and flower.
Fill us now with all we need.
Change us, as on You we feed.

Lead us to The precious Lamb.
Father God's most loving plan.
Let us celebrate Him now.
And to Him lets make a vow..

We desire to seek His face.
Put Him in His proper place.
Head of all we say and do.
Come, Holy Spirit, help us to.

*****************

Sunday morning, washed and brushed; suit on, all neatly pressed.
I make my way to worship; I hope you are impressed!.
I have got my Sunday Bible; I like the old "AV".
If it was good enough for Paul, it's good enough for me!.

My neighbours see me leaving, for I make sure they do.
God's called us to be witnesses, yes, me as well as you!.
I'm never late for services, so I stand around a while.
Chatting with my Christian friends, exchanging nod and smile.
