September yet already I feel it coming
The cold winter chill in the air
All over town they are appearing
Decorations to brighten the streets

Sat in the corner,
Eating of Christmas pie:
He put in his thumb,
And pulled out a plum,
And said, "What a good boy am I!"

C for the carolers, happy and gay,
H for the holly and Santa's red hat,
R for the reindeer, leaping the roofs.
I for the ice on snow-covered hills,
S for the stockings that Santa Claus stuffs,
T for the toys, the tinsel, the tree,
M for the mistletoe. Watch where it hangs!
A for the animals, out in the stable,
S for the sensing, the necessity of love.

Turn your eyes this Christmas.
To the Child who was born.

He came into the world.
Only to find sorrow and scorn.

He knew we needed a Savior.
To set us free from sin.

No other way to redemption.
But to open your heart to Him.

I must hang the baby's stocking.
I really must not forget.

For this is her very first Christmas,
And Santa hasn't seen her yet.

I can't wait until he sees her,
And her beautiful big blue eyes,

They are so full of wonder,
As she sees each new surprise.

I pray she will always enjoy:
Santa and flying reindeer,

Christmas cards, Christmas trees,
And the family gathering near.

Someone in the sky last night.
Had an awful pillow fight,

And when I woke today I found.
All the snowflakes on the ground.

I made myself a snowball.
As perfect as could be.

I thought I'd keep it as a pet.
And let it sleep with me..

I made it some pajamas.
And a pillow for it's head,

Then last night it ran away,
But first...
It wet my bed.

His hair was like a light.

But here is all aright).

The Christ-child lay on Mary's breast.
His hair was like a star.
(O stern and cunning are the kings.
But here the true hearts are).

The Christ-child lay on Mary's heart.
His hair was like a fire.
(O weary, weary is the world.
But here the world's desire).

The Christ-child stood on Mary's knee.
His hair was like a crown.
And all the flowers looked up at Him.
And all the stars looked down.

You have to hold him up to see.
The angel on the Christmas tree.

And even though he's still too small.
To know the meaning of it all.

You watch his eyes reflect the glow.
Of colored lights that come and go.

And feel him quiver with delight.
At every new and wondrous sight.

There's Santa with his jolly face.
Beaming from the fireplace.

And from the stocking hanging there.
Peeks a cuddly teddy bear.

To rest up for the fun of his first Christmas Day!.
Merry Christmas.

We sate among the stalls at Bethlehem.
The dumb kine from their fodder turning them.

Softened their horn'd faces.
To almost human gazes.
Toward the newly Born.

The simple shepherds from the star-lit brooks.
Brought visionary looks.

As yet in their astonished hearing rung.
The strange sweet angel-tongue.
The magi of the East, in sandals worn.

Knelt reverent, sweeping round.
With long pale beards, their gifts upon the ground.

The incense, myrrh, and gold.
These baby hands were impotent to hold.

So let all earthlies and celestials wait.
Upon thy royal state.
Sleep, sleep, my kingly One!.

When you see the sparkle.
In a child's eyes so clear.

The hustle and bustle of shoppers in stores.
The opening and closing of every door.
People scrambling for that special gift.
Maybe a toy or a make believe snowdrift.

Now that Christmas Eve is here.
Every child is waiting.
For Santa to appear.
