Freedom Poems

The fruit-tree's branch by very wealth
of fruit is bended low;
The peacock's feathered pride compels
A sluggish gait and slow;
The blooded horse that wins his race,
Must like cow be led:
The good in goodness often find
An enemy to dread.

I heard she would be visiting
So folk over here be working real hard
to raise the fees
and share some soulful aloha.

Land of the Free home of the brave.
Land of disease home of the slave.

Freedom of religion Freedom of speech.
Freedom of press and freedom to breach.

Freedom to steal freedom to take.
Freedom to carry guns and Freedom to break.

The laws of the man and the laws of the word.
Freedom from peace but to still use the bird.

The only home of brave and Land of the Free.
The land who rules based off democracy.

My Freedom, my Freedom.
you're my necklace.
you're my bracelet.

My Freedom, my Freedom.
I feel you, I think about you.
you accompany me, you're my Angel.

My Freedom, my Freedom.
I like to be your slave.
your slavery makes me Brave.

*************

Liberated, I'm free from you.
Liberated, bondage is through.

Liberated, I'll speak my view.
Liberated, life to pursue.

Oh come and hear the news.
I am now free to choose.

There is no more abuse.
Gone are the loathsome blues.

*************

Freedom from hunger and freedom from pain.
freedom from loss and so freedom from gain.

Freedom to give and freedom to share.
freedom from want and that of despair.

Freedom to think and freedom to know.
freedom to achieve and freedom to grow.

Freedom from bondage and freedom of liberation.
freedom from ignorance and any unknown situation.

*************

The earth spins as your pupils grow large
The sun is bright and the flowers are singing
And the birds are saying you are free
As you feel the wind tickling your neck
dry grass nibbles at your feet

*************

Not another sad poem, I'm sick of writing sad poems
Poems of heartbreak and deceit
Poems in which I'm emotionally set on fire
And my under garments are drenched in gasoline

*************

I've tried the new moon tilted in the air
Above a hazy tree-and-farmhouse cluster
As you might try a jewel in your hair.
I've tried it fine with little breadth of luster
Alone, or in one ornament combining
With one first-water start almost shining.

Freedom, as every schoolboy knows,
Once shrieked as Kosciusko fell,
On every wind, indeed, that blows
I hear her yell.

*************

Of old sat Freedom on the heights,
The thunders breaking at her feet:
Above her shook the starry lights:
She heard the torrents meet.
There in her place she did rejoice,
Self-gather'd in her prophet-mind,
But fragments of her mighty voice
Came rolling on the wind.

*************

Our friendship presented freedom
And Life gave us challenges to defeat
We fought with all our might
In a world that seemed so far away
We finally saw the freedom in each others eyes
We began to laugh in joy
Forgetting all our spoken pride
We began to smile like it might be our last
Finally we lost our freedom

*************

Whirl' whirl' whirl
Swirl' swirl' swirl
Turn' turn' turn
Spin' spin' spin
Twirl' twirl' twirl
Stop' stop' stop
Dizzy' dizzy, dizzy
Fall' fall' fall
Sick' sick' sick
Regret' regret' regret

*************

Freedom' freedom' freedom
Scream' scream' scream
Exhausted' sigh' breathe
Breathe in in' in
Clench' clench' clench
Punch' punch' punch
Exhausted' sigh' breathe
Breathe in' in' in
Scream' scream' scream
Freedom' freedom' freedom

*************

Tall they are
Small they can be
Wide with giving
Only receives hugging
Kisses will come if lucky
But always an applause with gusts of joy
Strong enough and you will be held
Patient enough and you will know

*************

Love is forgiven
I will hold no resentment
Still broken though
I will walk
In hopes of dancing
Cry if I can
I look away to save my dignity
Broken by love, that I am
I hope you find love
So I won't be alone
Together then we will be
Broken a pile of shit

*************
