Diwali is the festival of lights and is celebrated by Indians and all over the world. People spend 5 days of Diwali festival with joy, splendor, and happiness.

The first day of Diwali - Dhanteras

This day is the start of Deepawali celebrations. On this day at sunset, Hindus should bath and offer a lighted deeya with Prasad to Yama Raj. This day is also known as Dhanwantari Triodasi, Dhanvantari Triodasi and Dhan Theras.

The second day of Diwali - Choti Diwali

On this day, people should massage tha body with oil, bathe & rest so that Diwali can be celebarated with devotion. Second day of deewali is also called Narak Chaturdasi.

The third day of Diwali - Lakshmi Puja on Diwali

This is the day when HindusĀ  perform worship to Mother Lakshmi with their family and pandit.

The fourth day of Diwali - Padwa and Govardhan Puja

On 4th day of diwali Govardhan Pooja is performed.

The fifth day of Diwali - Bhai Duj

It is a day dedicated to sisters. This day is the end of Diwali celebrations. Diwali 5th day is also known as Bhratri Dooj and Bhai fota among Bengalis.
